If you need subtitles for your media, it couldn't be easier to do so. There are several ways to do this, however before you get started, be sure that you have a program and/or the necessary codecs installed. Subtitles get downloaded as a separate file usually with the extention ".srt".

Manual Download Method 1
+
#work on interface viewing options - "always show episodes" option

If you don't want subtitles for all of your media, you may simply right click on the name of the title, and select "Download Subtitles".

Manual Download Method 2
+
#figure out how the delete template works with categories.
 +
#put a link somewhere so editors can use it

Click on Tools, then Download Subtitles for all movies.

Automatic Method
+
#redo all info boxes: change wiki markup from block quote to a table markup.
 +
#fix info boxes on left side of side bar to center between left side of page and side bar on each page.
 +
#work on wiki editing navigation box, image links and info boxes pages, redo examples to tables with pre and don't use nowiki.

If you want all of your titles to have subtitles go to the Application menu, Settings and Preferences, Movies tab, and check the box that says "Download subtitles from Subscene.com". Select the language you would like. Please note that Subscene.com may or may not have the subtitle in the language you are looking for. You may also check the box for Using OpenSubtitles.org as a backup if you wish, although it is a little slow. If necessary you may also go directly to opensubtitles.org or similar websites to download what you are looking for manually. Be sure to rename the .srt file exactly the same as your media minus the extention. Example: Movie.avi should have a subtitle called movie.srt

Add new tv series
+
#add categories to bottom of pages.

+

If you have a television series on a DVD disc and want to have Media Center Master get meta data for you, then follow these simple instructions. These instructions assume you know how to rip a DVD disc to your hard drive and that you're comfortable with creating folders and moving files around on your computer.
+

(You must be using version 1.16.27509.943 or above.)
+
xbmc
(If the series folder already exists, skip to step 2.)

1. Create a new Series using Media Center Master's menu Media -> Add a T.V. Series (if the series folder already exists, skip to step 2). We'll use the T.V. show "Lost" as an example.

Step 1b

Step 2b

"Step 3B

(The 'Keep this series up to date with new episodes' option only appears if you have T.V. episode downloading enabled in the Downloader preferences page. It will be checked on automatically if the series is still airing new episodes.)

2. Double-click on the series in Media Center Master's main window. In our example, you will double-click on "Lost". This will open up Windows Explorer and automatically navigate you to the folder where your T.V. series videos and meta data should go.

Step4

3. Create a new folder for the season that this disc applies to. It should be called "Season 1" (for season #1, etc.). This folder belongs in the T.V. series folder (so for our example, "C:\Video\TV\Lost\Season 1").
+
Step 5
+

4. Create a new folder inside the season folder that identifies the disc. If this disc has episodes 1-4 on it, then name the folder "S01E01-E04". You can add text before or after the episode identification if you like, but it is optional (such as "Lost S01E01-E04 season 1, disc 1").

Then, move your ripped disc contents into this new episode folder. Make sure that you include the VIDEO_TS folder from your ripped disc. For our example, you now have .VOB video files in "C:\Video\TV\Lost\Season 1\S01E01-E04\VIDEO_TS".

Step6

5. Have Media Center Master fetch meta data for the series. It will pick up the "S01E01-E04" folder as DVD-type episode that has episodes 1-4 of season 1 and will fetch meta data accordingly.

Step 3

Step 7

That's it, you're done!

windows media center
http://www.mediacentermaster.com/old_wiki/Other/WindowsMediaCenter

Windows Media Center exists in three different versions of Windows:

Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005

Windows Vista (Home Premium and Ultimate)

Windows 7 (Home Premium, Professional, and Ultimate)

For the purposes of the Wiki, we will mostly focus on Windows 7 Media Center and not at all on XP Media Center. Many things that work in Windows 7 will work in Vista, but some do not. If you have specific questions about Windows Media Center, please visit the forums.

mediabrowser
http://www.mediacentermaster.com/old_wiki/Other/MediaBrowser

"Media Browser is a personal media aggregator that takes your recorded, digital, or ripped media and presents it in a simple, easy to use interface."

Put even more simply, it is one of the richest and most popular Windows Media Center extensions that exist. The best part is, it is free (though they do now have a "supporter version" that allows access to more skins and other tools). It allows you to access your Movies, Music, and TV shows easily and also has the ability to be customized to suit your needs. Mediabrowser has a very strong community and is highly recommended by those who use Media Center not just for regular TV watching. Mediabrowser also works very nicely with Media Center Master. To learn more, please follow one of the links below:

codecs
http://www.mediacentermaster.com/old_wiki/Other/Codecs

Under Windows 7, many codecs are no longer needed, as they are built-in to the OS. If you do install codecs and/or filters, then these will not be used unless you tell the OS not to use them. This involves a registry hack, but fortunately, someone has written a little utility call Win7DSFilterTweaker that has an easy to use interface for changing the registry.

If you visit the Win7DSFilterTweaker website, you can find how to use the tool.

Filters that may be required for all movies to work under Windows 7 include:
+
Information Boxes

    AC3 Filter

    FFDShow

    CoreAVC (if nVidia GPU installed)

Haali Splitter (plus 64-bit version of OS is 64-bit)

Once you have installed these, then you can use Win7DSFilterTweaker to configure them.

Codec Packs
+

If you are into codec packs and want something maybe quicker and easier to use, you can check out Shark007's Codec Packs. His codec packs feature, apart from the codecs themselves, a very simple to use configuration utility that allows you to turn on and off the codecs you want and need. Comes in XP/Vista/Windows 7 32 and 64 bit versions (if you have Vista/7 64-bit, be sure you download both the windows 32-bit and 64-bit codecs as Media Center is 64-bit but the default Windows Media Player is 32-bit).

Please also read "Pete's Media Center Vista/7 Stuff."

If your not already automatically downloading trailers with movie downloads and wish too, enable the feature through:<br>
 +

 +
To rename and save the trailer files go through:<br>

 +

 +
Media Center Master will download, rename, and process the trailer files into the movie folder for XBMC to use, as long as the above settings are configured and the following option is not enabled.<br>
 +
Application Menu>Settings and Preferences>Trailers>Trailers should be saved:>in a directory I choose as Movie Title (Year)_trailer.ext
 +

 +
If you are not using any Netgear, or NMT/PCH (Popcorn Hour) Products, disable all of the options in these two tabs in Media Center Master.
 +

 +

 +

 +

 +
To add new downloads/refresh your collection in XBMC get to the scan folder through: the videos tab/button on XBMC's Home Page, highlight a scan folder and use the context menu (right click on a scan folder, or hit "c" on keyboard while a scan folder is highlighted, hit info or more info button on select remotes while a scan folder is highlighted) then select "Scan for contents".  Do not use "Update library."  Updating the library will use the XBMC fetcher, download from the internet, and set updated meta-data and images as defaults instead of what is saved by Media Center Master.

If your not already automatically downloading trailers with movie downloads and wish too, enable the feature through:
Application Menu>Settings and Preferences>Trailers>Automatically download trailer videos

To rename and save the trailer files go through:
Application Menu>Settings and Preferences>Trailers>Trailers should be saved:>with the movie as moviefile-trailer.ext

This can also be done by selecting a single movie or selecting multiple movies and using the right click menu option:
Download theatrical trailer, or Download YouTube theatrical trailer (prompt)...

Another way to get trailers for all movies is through:
Tools Menu>Download missing theatrical trailers

Media Center Master will download, rename, and process the trailer files into the movie folder for XBMC to use, as long as the above settings are configured and the following option is not enabled.
Application Menu>Settings and Preferences>Trailers>Trailers should be saved:>in a directory I choose as Movie Title (Year)_trailer.ext
