| Media Center Master's Wiki Editing Guide | |
| |
|
|
The current version of Media Center Master is 2.05. There are major changes to the program as to how it is represented in the wiki. The changes are on going and makes it difficult to up date the wiki. As of December 11, 2012, for premium licensed users, only, Media Center Master has it's own, private, NZB Indexing Site. There is no additional account registration required to use the indexing service with Media Center Master. A complete Quick Set-up: Premium Version, Usenet Downloads guide is available in the wiki. The biggest change in Version 2.04 took place were the "log," and "media summary" viewing area use to be. After adding media and clicking on a title from the media list, several tabs (i.e., Log, Summary, Metadata, and Files) will appear in the right side pane. More tabs are scheduled to be added in the future, such as: Media Info, Trailers/Subtitles, and a Episode Metadata Editor. There have also been several changes made in the "Settings and Preferences" tabs. Some new tabs, and new settings have been added. The "Renaming" tab was changed to "Organization," and several of the old settings have been move from one tab to another. None of the settings have been removed from the program. Version 1.32 is used for the examples in the wiki, unless otherwise noted. Although it may take a bit more work to find some settings, the wiki is still a valuable tool for a new user to get Media Center Master up and running. All of the settings used in the guides for a test run are still available, and should be used as described in the guides. | |

Support Information
The "Support Information" is a list of information relating to the installation of Media Center Master and the current user configuration settings.
Should a user need assistance with a problem and post a topic in the forum, this list can be used by the responding party to assist the user in resolving the problem.
The "Support Information" is found through Help Menu>Support information.
Support Information Window
Include log file (last 100 line, if available)
The "Include log file (last 100 line, if available)" option should be used if there is related information in the log file to the issue being posted in the forum. The Application Menu>Log all output to a file...>Log to file option must be enabled to include the 100 lines.
Copy All Button
The "Copy All" button will copy the System Information to the Windows Operating System clipboard. If the option for "Include log file (last 100 line, if available)" is enabled, the last 100 lines of the log file will be included at the bottom of the System Information list.
Log File
The "Log File" is a text file containing the complete list of all processing done by Media Center Master that is shown in the "Log Viewing Pane" (area #4 in screen capture shown below).
Should a user need assistance with a problem and post a topic in the forum, portions of the "Log" relating to the issue can be selected from the "Log Viewing Pane (shown above)," or from the "Log File" (shown below) and used by the responding party to assist the user in resolving the problem.
Accessing the "Log File" and an option to enable the creation of a log file is found through the Application Menu>Log all output to a file....
Log to file
Enabling the "Log to file" option will allow Media Center Master to create a text file named "Activity log for (date).log, and store it in Media Center Master's hidden user folder. Media Center Master will create a new log file at the beginning of each day around 12:00 a.m.

Open logs
Selecting this option will open a Windows Explorer window to the Media Center Master's hidden folder location where the Activity log text file is stored.
Debugging
Developer - level debug messaging provides a deeper level of logging for determining the cause creating a problem. The messaging is enabled by the user, and is viewed in the log window. It will also be listed in the log text file, if the Application Menu>Log all output to a file...>Log to file option is enabled.
When a user is seeking assistance through the forum involving certain circumstances, Pete will respond, and will ask the user to supply a portion of the "Log Viewing Pane," or the "Log File" with debug messaging.
Debug messaging is enabled through the Help Menu>Debug...>Show developer-level debug messaging option.
