The current version of Media Center Master is 2.05. There are major changes to the program as to how it is represented in the wiki. The changes are on going and makes it difficult to up date the wiki. As of December 11, 2012, for premium licensed users, only, Media Center Master has it's own, private, NZB Indexing Site. There is no additional account registration required to use the indexing service with Media Center Master. A complete Quick Set-up: Premium Version, Usenet Downloads guide is available in the wiki. The biggest change in Version 2.04 took place were the "log," and "media summary" viewing area use to be. After adding media and clicking on a title from the media list, several tabs (i.e., Log, Summary, Metadata, and Files) will appear in the right side pane. More tabs are scheduled to be added in the future, such as: Media Info, Trailers/Subtitles, and a Episode Metadata Editor. There have also been several changes made in the "Settings and Preferences" tabs. Some new tabs, and new settings have been added. The "Renaming" tab was changed to "Organization," and several of the old settings have been move from one tab to another. None of the settings have been removed from the program. Version 1.32 is used for the examples in the wiki, unless otherwise noted. Although it may take a bit more work to find some settings, the wiki is still a valuable tool for a new user to get Media Center Master up and running. All of the settings used in the guides for a test run are still available, and should be used as described in the guides. | |

Back to Some Basics on How Wiki Software Works
Major Editing may be done by:
- Creating a complete section with subsections, or a complete page in a "sandbox," then copy and paste the completed contribution into the "Media Center Master Reference Guide," or
- Copying and pasting an area the editor wishes to make revisions to, into the editor's "my talk" page, after making all of the revision, then copy and paste back into the related area/s of the Wiki to correct and/or update it. This allows an editor to edit, preview, and save a revision several times outside of the "Media Center Master Reference Guide," before deciding it is complete. Edits made in this manner are immediate result changes as compared to sporadic changes affecting a current on line reader's view of the "Media Center Master Reference Guide,"
When using the first method additional work may be required within the contribution and the "Media Center Master Reference Guide," such as: creating links in the contribution back to the Main Page - Contents, creating a page link in the "Media Center Master Reference Guide" for the contribution, creating links in the "Media Center Master Reference Guide" to sections in the contribution....
When using the second method additional care should be taken and self enforced, for example, and not just limited too: page titles and links to page titles in the selected area an editor is planning to edit.
Additional Information
example:
- Copy and pasting an area back into the "Media Center Master Reference Guide" containing a change to a page title, e.g., correcting this page title link: [[Innstallking Media Center Master]] to [[Installing Media Center Master]] does not change the spelling of the page title and auto-update the links connected to that page.
- Page titles are links to pages.
- The links in the selection copied from the "Media Center Master Reference Guide" still active back to the "Media Center Master Reference Guide" while the editor is making revisions within "my talk."
- Should an editor change a page title (a page link), rename it.
- The editor simply created a new page link, to a blank page.
- The original page is still active under the old name, and all links in the "Media Center Master Reference Guide" will still connect to the old page.
- The new page/link will not connect with any of the original page/links.
When using either of the methods involving the "sandbox" area, the copy, should be deleted after double checking to see if the contributions are in fact present in the "Media Center Master Reference Guide." This removes any possibilities of editing the same material in the "sandbox," again, which could be changing the "Media Center Master Reference Guide" at the same time, without the editor's knowledge, through links.
